Anderlecht - Bayern Munich 3.65 - 2.20
Wilhelmsson is out for Anderlecht, and Mornar enters the starting line up. Probably the only change compared to their side that lost to Lyon, 0-1, two weeks ago. Anderlecht are in excellent form, 7 games and 7 wins in the Belgian league, and their performance away to Lyon could easily have rewarded them with a point at least. Both Ze Roberto and Hargreaves return to the Bayern line up, and Santa Cruz will most likely replace out of form Salihamidzic. Bayern had a rather poor line up in their latest Bundesliga match, (away to Rostock) and their performance was well below par, (despite their lucky win) but they look stronger ahead of this Champions League encounter. Still looking at the above prices, I would have to support the home win for Anderlecht! (3.65).
Celtic - Lyon 2.10 - 3.50
The Scots were really unlucky losing to Bayern, and they maintained their high standard in European matches, despite the unfortunate loss. They will field the same side tomorrow, as neither Valgaeren nor Mj?by are match fit. Lyon will also be unchanged with both Govou and Delflandre back. Basically I look upon Lyon as a terrific home side, that most often disappoint on their travels. Juninho scored 3 for Lyon the other day and Elber alongside Govou should not be neglected, but I hold Celtic in high esteem in these international games, and backed by their enthusiastic crowd, Celtic should pick up a three pointer (2.10).
Inter - Dynamo Kiev 1.36 - 10.50
Materazzi is unable to play, Kily Gonzales is back, and Vieri is not included in Cuper's 19 men squad. Julio Cruz and Martins will be the two home strikers, same lethal duo as away to Arsenal. The Brazilian substitute striker Rincon was the Kiev hero against Lokomotive a fortnight ago, scoring two very late goals. His participation is in doubt tomorrow, and Leko could also be sidelined. A very likely home win, but I would not dream of using this poor price on the home win (1.36).
Lokomotive Moscow - Arsenal 4.50 - 1.91
The Russians miss their suspended defender Lekcetho, but the other 10 should be able to play again. I am talking about the chosen eleven on duty vs. Kiev in the first group game. Lokomotive lost 0-2, the goals scored in the 83rd and 90th minutes. Arsenal will be without Bergkamp, Vieira, Fredde Ljungberg and Sol Campbell. All these great players played in the unhappy 0-3 loss against Inter. Keown, Pires and Edu will all play from the start. Representatives from Lokomotive and Kiev stated before the start of the Champions League, that they feared Inter much more than Arsenal. The pressure is on Arsenal, losing at home in the Champions League is costly, and they must at least avoid a defeat in Moscow. I am not keen on the away price and going against my club, I do not know, I guess that I have to pass.
Deportivo la Coruna - PSV Eindhoven 1.53 - 8.00
Romero will be missing from the Coruna defence, (due to being bitten by a snake!) and Capdevila is his replacement. Pandiani preferred to Tristan up front, alongside Luque. Coruna suffered their first league defeat over the week end against Osasuna, letting in three goals during a crazy five minute spell. PSV have doubts concerning Young Pyo Lee's fitness, and Vennegoor of Hesselink a likely starter instead of Ji-Sung Park. There are no poor sides in the Champions League, and you never get your wins automatically, and that goes for la Coruna as well. They should win this home match against PSV, but the Dutch will make a match of it. The price is just normal - a home win for la Coruna (1.53).
Monaco - AEK Atens 1.57 - 6.70
Morientes was rested over the week end, Giuly only featured as a substitute, and Zikos did not play at all. Expect all three back for this match, and Monaco have no worries at all. Expect the same AEK side that drew with La Coruna two weeks ago. Let me see! Yes, AEK have remarkably enough drawn 7 consecutive Champions League group matches! What about that? Can one avoid a bet on the draw? (3.50).
Galatasaray - Real Sociedad 2.25 - 3.50
Sukur, Sas, Unsal, Ergun, Korkmaz and so on, all the Galatasaray stars will be on show again in an unchanged line up. Real should have Nihat, Alkiza and de Pedro fit for fight, and the Spaniards will be able to use their best side as well. The only slight doubt is Lopez-Rekarte. The Turks are experienced campaigners on the international scene, not so the Real Sociedad football club. This fact should never be underestimated, believe you me! A home win for Galatasaray, and the price is 2.25.
Olympiakos - Juventus 4.33 - 2.05
Young Castillo could start on the Olympiakos midfield, and if so, it will be the only change to the Greek line up, compared to the one on duty against Real S. in the group opener. Juventus of course without del Piero, but Trezeguet is definitely back, and most likely Legrottaglie as well. Thuram was rested last Saturday, but he will be back for this match. I will not jump on the away win - experience tells me that Italian sides are always ready to accept a draw in internationals. Home advantage does mean something when Greek sides are involved! So, a somewhat cowardly pick on the draw! (3.00 - 3.30).
