Slowenien Wochenende (mit Montag)
Hi Leute,
Celje - Nafta
...VS...
Good we have the possibility to see the highlights of the games on SIOL sport:
http://sportal.siol.net/default.asp?article_id=11381130707120941550
What we saw so far is both teams playing the "wealthy" and imo artificial
team of
Interblock, both away and the comparison shows
Celje very close
to winning it (after checking the Interblock goal I'm almost 100% sure there
was no goal as the ball didn't cross the line...another gift for Interblock after
the Nafta penalty ?! ),
while
Nafta deservingly lost it, even if the penalty was at least questionable.
Furtherly I saw some very good shots by many Celje players (
Gobec, Pecnik,
Bersnjak,...) , some nice passes into the box, mainly by Gobec (however
Luka wasn't satisfied with that.. ha ha) and one of which was used by Pecnik
(and at least one clear wasted),
Pecnik and Seslar also a major threat with
their headers...
All in all I see danger coming which the
Nafta defence won't handle the same
amount they have handled vs both Interblock and Livar.
Nafta showed quite good fighting, but also no goals out of the game and very
few half chances. Can't comment on the penalties (2 vs Livar), but the fact
Livar coach was sent off as well the yellow card(s) (and a red) Livar got while
protesting, couldn't be too clean...
With
Pinni on the bench and the mentioned
Celje attack i see a quite good chance
all points will remain at home. Maybe the win by 1 should be a good value
as well, due to the fact it's still the beginning of the championship and the
chances converting is still low and knowing these two teams have a history
of close results ... but odds for HW are at high 1.90 - 2.00 and that's good
enough to me!
Ortiz is available for this game, but even his presence won't help vs Celje imo:

Drava - Interblock
...VS...
Drava started with 2 zeros and now there's high time they start collecting
points following the great finish in the last season. Coach
Besek showed he
can prepare his team to beat any team in the historical city of Ptuj and fans
are backing him all the way there.
Though lost vs
Maribor (they were in huge need of a good result as I told
in my earlier posts) and away at
Primorje (1-2 in the 85') they certainly have
more to show than that. The "new" forward
Kmetec, well known in Slovenian league,
showed he can be dangerous and also that he can score. Now it's time he
presents himself infront of the home crowd with a goal (or two).
Also
Zilic, Tisnikar and the rest of the attack will be challenged to score...
I'm sure
Besek will find the best solution for the imo overrated Interblock
team (defence).
Interblock collected a win and a draw from the 1st two encounters and I would
immediately add with much luck and help of the "men in black" as well.
Nafta (1-0) was beaten in the 93' minute from a very suspicious penalty (I'd
say all penalties in the added time are...), the game was poor as well, even
if they had the posession (2nd half).
The next home game vs
Celje (1-1) was even luckier for them, as Celje
prevailed most of the game and the Interblock's equalizer was not a goal
as the ball hasn't crossed the line (not even half of it)

Interblock meanwhile signed another "star name"
Rodic, who returned from
abroad and signed during the week. So another significant signing, but again
I'm not impressed at all so far. They showed nothing special and for their
play the overachieved in points (as explained above).
I see
Drava as the favs here and they will be the first imo to show a rough
landing to the "star team" of Interblock.

Koper - Maribor
...VS...
I was pretty much convinced the "out" for
Maribor in the 2nd Intertoto round
would bring some positive with it too. All the fuss with the fans, Zahovic's
arrival, 2 wins in the first 2 rounds and the return of the good mood and
extra motivation (maybe not in the same order) are all facts which are
the basis for another successful Maribor game.
Voices from the
Koper side rising, they want to gain back some confidence
through defeating the "leader", are more or less an attempt to boost some
pregame motivation and maybe a call to the fans, but imo they are based
on very shaky ground.
The Siroki trio
Karoglan, Ronielle and Balaban were outjoking the Koper
defence the Thursday UEFA Q game showing Koper has many holes in the
back. There's some chance for important defender Handanagic to be back
in the team Sunday, but even with him (not 100% ready) I see a decent chance
for the
Maribor attackers to repeat the
Drava exercise (3-1 away).
Koper signed 4 new players (quite unknown) and they may be getting the
green light for the game, but even so they can't just expect a successful
game with new people who haven't had any time to play together.
A rested and prepared
Maribor flying high, vs the fallen apart Koper
after the easy defeats in the UEFA Qs and listing the "unknown" newcommers...
The value is on the away odds no doubt, especially the ones that still favour
the
Koper team.
Odds @2.50 and higher for AW are just terrific, but it's also imo worth waiting
for
Pinnacle to release a juicy Asian (hoping for pk @2.00-ish)
till then...
