Bauer - Veerpalu (Sat. 13:30) Veerpalu 2.55 @ nordicbet 5/10

I think Nordicbet made a decent mistake, stating the odds on the basis of the this-year's results. I guess they missed Bauer is not 100% ready. He had some minor helth problems already during the last races of the Tour de Ski, which got worse a few days ago. He was prescribed antibiotics and had to skip another part of the World Cup in the Northern America, he intended to take a part in. He got better after a few days and resumed with his training, but when he started to get back into the form the illness got him again and he had to interrupt the training once again. On Tuesday he told the journalists that he had been troubled by viroses since the last mid-week and does not feel very well on the track. But he cannot miss these races in Estonia as he needs points for the WC standing. Therefore his main goal is to bring some points and stay as healthy as possible. He said he would be satisfied with a place in the top 15.

Veerpalu is a living legend of the cross-country skiing. He does not participate in many races during the year nowadays, but he simply cannot miss races in his own country. I expect a huge support from the fans there. Not talking about a good form Veerpalu seems to be in. On Thursday there was a calssic style race over 8,5 km, where he defeated the main favourite of the race Aukland and won the race. Jaak Mae was more than 22 seconds behind. Last year Veerpalu finished 8th, 21 seconds behind Bauer. I think tommorow he's going to do much better, especially as with the odds for a win being 8,0 he's considered to be one of the biggest favourites of the race.

My opinion nordicbet missed Bauer's problems support the fact he is the hottest candidate for the win with the odds of 4,0.
