Atlanta Hawks at Miami Heat
The preseason is a funny thing in the NBA, where usualy all depends on what guys a team will play, how many minutes and what their goals are to acomplish in preseason. The "worse" teams usualy want to gain lacking confidence by whining and getting their rotations set while good teams rest their best players and want to give an extended look to guys, who fight for the 11,12 spot on the team.
Here is a typical matchup where the odds on the Hawks are 2,6 and the Heat are favourites with odds of 1,51. But the Heat are playing without Shaq, Wade, Mourning.. maybe also without Walker and Haslem. Add to that that they lost Kapono and Posey in free agency and you have yourself a squad with Jason Williams and mostly scrubs for this game while Atlanta plays everyone (albeit limited minutes). So the starting unit of Atlanta is way better here than the Heat one.
When the bench comes in Atlanta will play new first round picks Horford, Law and some now established young guns as Childress, Shelden Williams.. and the Heat will play unknown guys who will duke it out for that 12 spot on the roster.
So on paper the Atlanta team here will be way better than the Heat one. The Heat unknowns but will be very motivated and will play in Miami. All in all i have to take the 2,60 odds and risk it, because preseason can be funny at times but if u usualy go with the bigger odds you come out in green numbers.
Take Atlanta moneyline at 2,60 on Bwin. 6/10
