TIGERS GAME TWO PROBABLE STARTER: Verlander 0.00 ERA
Verlander went 7-6 with a 3.49 ERA and a school-record 151 strikeouts at Old Dominion last season. The 22-year-old right-hander will be making his major league debut after rocketing through the Tigers farm system. Verlander was drafted with the second overall pick in the 2004 amateur draft out of Old Dominion.

INDIANS GAME TWO PROBABLE STARTER: Jason Davis 5.50 ERA
Davis, who was called up from Triple-A Buffalo to start Monday, is 2-3 with a 4.98 ERA in nine games, including six starts, against Detroit. The 25-year-old right-hander gave up three runs and nine hits over seven innings in a 7-6 victory over San Francisco on June 11.

The 22-year-old right-hander will be making his third start of the season and first since giving up six runs and eight hits in 2 2-3 innings in an 8-4 loss to Pittsburgh on May 26. Ramirez pitched a scoreless inning of relief in Cincinnati's 12-4 loss to Colorado on June 3.

GIANTS PROBABLE STARTER: Kirk Rueter 5.03 ERA
Rueter has lost five straight decisions and has not won since beating Houston 4-2 on May 13. The veteran southpaw did not get a decision after allowing two runs - one earned - and three hits over five innings in San Francisco's 4-2 win over Arizona on Wednesday.


Reds - 7-28 on the road; Giants - 17-22 at home.
