zu den 2 rumänischen teilnehmer oder generelles über die liga in rumänien. is etwas lang aber interessant! der typ muss das anscheinend wissen.
Here is the naked truth about the Romanian teams inbvolved in this year's edition of Intertoto Cup (whether you like it or not!)
Both Gloria and Ceahlaul are teams that survive in Divizia A with the lowest budgets!
Hehe, I know, you must be wondering how they could qualify for the Intertoto Cup. Well, it is a simple answer: both promoted between 1990 and 1992 and since then they survived by making points traffic. Those two teams are the creators of the so called "Cooperativa" the mafiot sistem of selling, buying, trafficking points, bribing the referees and more: who wants to win the title is paying a big amount of money to them and further they will give 12 points without fight to the title chasers and will pay further money to the "friends" that are willing to "earn" something. Also they decide who's going down each year and sometimes they use their influence among the corrupt federal and league officials in order to obtain favors for the teams that want to promote from Divizia B to Divizia A!
In general they do not play a spectacular football, often, too often, when they play honestly they have a simple tactic of defending a lot and then try their chances on the counterattacks. If they encounter a low tehnical side they preffer to keep the ball in the midfield and then attack on the flanks and transmit high balls into the center of the 16m box. Usually the accuracy of the croses is low.
When attacking on the centre of the enemy defense they lack perspectives and the players make little effort to get in ideal positions of receiving and shooting the ball - also the play-makers lack perspectives and give awefull passes: to late, bad passes or preffer to get into 1-on-1 duels.
A general problem of the Romanian attackers is that they do not know how to escape the off-side trap and at Ceahlaul this problem is more obvious than at Gloria.
Very often they try to simulate in and around the box in order to obtain free-kicks or penalty shots - by the way, they are miserable actors!
Given the low level of training in the youth centers the players arrive into the senior squad very weak from a fizical point of view and often they lose simple duels with a determinat and solid defender! The reverse of the situation described above is the fact that they are quite little fellows and also light (as weight I mean) and their simulations might work because it's easy for them to take a dive given the big difference of weight and height between them and their opponents. Expect many such things from them!
If you take a closer look at the romanian clubs involved in Intertoto Cup in the last 4-5 years you will see that those two teams are almost each time there -> they use their influence to get there and block their opponents who might ask for a place (you know the rules for engaging in this competition, right?).
More concrete I can tell you now that the perspectives for both teams are to qualify into the 3rd round and bring a big team from Western Football here and than make a really big deal of their value inside the Romanian public. They know that they can't go in UEFA Cup (from Intertoto or qualify directly from the domestic competition since the big guns of the Romanian football will not allow that!) so they try their chance in this lower competition.
