Die Art wie es die Schwedin durch die Quali geschafft hat, hat mich aufmerksam gemacht. Die Ukrainer musste keine Quli spielen und ist auch nicht gerade das gelbe vom Ei

Domachowska - Sanchez Lorenzo (1 1,5)

Die junge Polin hält die Ballwechsel relativ kurz, sprich geht gleich auf die Punkte. Die Spanierin ist eher auf langsamen Belägen zuhause, wird kaum einen Ryhtmus heute bekommen.

My 2 monday picks:

Elena Baltacha - Sabine Klaschka 1 1.50
Clash of home girl Baltacha and unexpected qualifier Klaschka.Elena is great grasscourt player, she is born to play on fast surfaces. Her style of play is serve&volley which match prefect on grass.Godd serve, attacking style of play and very well volley technique makes her a huge favourite in my eyes for this game. Sabine is really unexpected in the main draw, she is 25 years old and that is her first match in grand slam main tournament in career, she is really unexperienced and probably not prepared to play in the first ronud of the grand slam tournament against home player who loves to play on that surface.Baltacha is playing 5th straight time in the wimbledon, her best achievment is 3rd round. She still make progress and she reached 3rd round of this year Australian Open.All in all Baltacha is playing on the grass forever whereas for german matches won here in qualifying tournament was her first matches won on grass in career so it is already a really big succes for her.Elena has all in the hand to win this match and in my opinion she should not have problems to do it.

Evie Dominikovic - Aiko Nakamura 1 1.50
Clash of the two 25 years old players, one from the australia when grass is the main surface and they are playing on the grass a lot, and one from the japan where grass is not very popular surface.Evie has really attacking style of play, she has also great serve, hitting a lot of aces, she is coming to the net a lot and likes to putting a pressure on her opponent.Player from Japan is unexperienced and she is not playing often in main draws of tournaments whereas is standart for dominikovic.Australian is playing in grand slams since 10 years regular but she never trough first round of wimbledon.In this year she has a really great opportunity to do it.

Pathetic preformance by me, but never blame players always blame myself
Picks for the second day, but low stake due to my awful form

Ondraskova - Black 1 1.70
I was wathing match beetwen them live in Warsaw and zuzana demolished black all over the way. Black is not very tall, her weakest point is serve and court movement because she is not the youngest player on tour.Zuzana is playing with a lot of confidence, she is not making a lot of unforced errors, her serve is well, not very powerfull but stabile.She is moving very well and presents very high form lately.

Vakulenko - Garbin 1 1.70
Julia is typical hardhitter, she is very talented player but last year she was badly injured which put her out of the game for few months. Now she is trying to come back where her place is, and this place is something about top 40. Garbin is not strong player, it is hard to talk about her strong points because she is not single out in nothing.Julia is a hardhitter with nice serve and her game is very effective on grass. She pass qualies in good style so she is already habituate to surface and nows how the ball is bouncing.

and underdog:

Fujiwara - Bartoli 1 2.55
Rika is specific player, she is playing moonballs often and this type of shots are not easy to return and every time her opponent play shorter ball she move to the net and he has arguments to do that because she has great volley technique. Bartoli is two-handed from both sides and it makes very difficult when she is playing on grass, because she has less time to stan correct to hit the ball and her movement was never pefrect making a lot of errors on every surface, especially on that fastest. Rika is not making much errors, her play is looking some kind of young conchita martinez and we must remember that conchita won wimbledon few years ago with such play.I have to add that bartoli retired last thursday due to foot injury so she is defintly fit in 100%.

Ich hab gestern die letzten Minuten Klaschka-Baltacha gesehen ,wie grottig! Für mich auf jeden Fall in 2. Runde 2-0 gg Klaschka(bei ner fairen Quote).

Medina-Garriques – Srebotnik 1 130 eh 1,7

H2H 1:1 (beide 2003 auf Sand). Hab lange herum überlegt, zuerst tendierte ich eher zu der Slowenin, doch umso mehr ich recherchierte, gefiel mir die Spanierin. Hatte dieses blöde Vorurteil „Spanier und Grass was soll das!“ im Kopf, doch ist sie ein überdurchschnittlich Doppelspielerin (kommt auf Grass immer mehr zum Tragen), und spielt eigentlich gar nicht so schlecht auf diesen Belag. Dagegen ist die Slowenin mehr auf Sand zuhause (Grasbilanz 8-13).

Stimmt, da ist sogar 2-0 lay zu überlegen !

Nu muss nur noch serena fliegen, dann wirds ein lustiges tournament ;)

Hätt isch mal des 2-0 gelayed, hatte aber nur 2-0 Klaschka@22. In der nächsten Runde sind Myskina und Dementieva fällig - so ein mumutennis.
