PAOK v Panionios

Both teams are fighting for a place at the UEFA Cup. PAOK haven't changed much during the transfer period. They bought a few players (Polish striker Miechel from Iraklis and and an african player named Megahead) but both are not ready to play. Although PAOK is considered as one of the top greek teams they are not to be completely trusted yet. Lately they have showed some signs of improvement but still they need some more time to play good football. Last week they won @ Kerkira by 0-1 due to a late goal by Salpiggidis. Panionios have lost a lot of their power on January. Experienced midfielder Giannopoulos has moved to Italy (Venezia). Also first choice goalkeeper Drobny (left to Fulham) and very good midfielder Mantzios (to West Ham) are the absentees for the away team. In their last game they drew @ home vs Halkidona (0-0).It's going to be a close game but in the end i think PAOK will take the win

Apollon Kalamarias v Ionikos

It's a win or die game especially for the hosts. Apollon is in an uptrend. Last week they drew @ Ofi Crete (0-0). They have a new coach and the players are performing well. They will fight hard to take this valuable win. Apollon have signed a couple of new and unknown players. Ionikos on the other hand look tired. They haven't won since last October. Last Sunday the drew @ home vs Panathinaikos (0-0) in the most boring game ever. Zivkovic, Ofridopoulos, Melabianakis and Tsiblidis all regulars are the absentees for Ionikos. This game will be tough with lots of fouls and few chances. I say that Apollon will win by a goal or so (1-0, 2-0) in a low scoring game.

Chalkidona v Iraklis

Chalkidona have a lot of scoring problems since the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Anderson to Panathinaikos. Another problem has come up the past week. Striker Zacharopoulos is out due to injury and i find very difficult for them to find the net. Their last game ended in a goalless draw @ Panionios. Iraklis on the other hand have played very good games lately. They have a good team and deserve to climb more in the standings. There is just one thing that scares me. Whenever Iraklis travel to Athens they lose 50% of their power. It's really unexplicable but it's true. Nevertheless i will bet on them not to lose.

Xanthi v Panathinaikos

As i said in previous reports i respect the team of Xanthi. They have good players, organized staff and a president who supports the team. They are very strong @ home. In their last game they lost @ Aris (2-1) in a game where the referee made huge mistakes. Panathinaikos play lousy football. They couln't make a chance vs Ionikos in last week's game. The same happened yesterday vs AEK (1-1)for the Cup. The goal scored for Panathinaikos came after the ball sliped off the hands of the goalkeeper. I don't trust this team and i am sure that they will find it very difficult to beat the team of Xanthi.

A game similar to the one of Apolon vs Ionikos. Kallithea have lost their best striker Gkekas to Panathinaikos. In order to cover his loss they have signed defender(!!!) Vokolos from PAOK. Last week they drew @home vs Olympiakos (2-2) in a game where Olympiakos lost ten to fifteen clear chances to score and also a penalty. Ergotelis didnt move in the transfer period. The team remained more or less the same as before January. Both teams suck. A possible draw

Egaleo v OFI Crete

Egaleo is a strong team that will fight for an UEFA cup position. The players are hardworkers and in addition they have a very capable and cleaver president. The team remained unchanged during the tranfer period. Rumors say that Portsmouth is interested in signing attacker Skopelitis. OFI Crete have problems. Fans are unhappy with the board of the team. The players are bored and i see no passion in their play. I will trust Aigaleo in this one

Kerkyra v AEK Athens

Difficult game for the championship leaders AEK Athens. They travel to the beatiful island of Corfu to face the local team. AEK is characterized by the fanaticism of their players. Although they don't have the quality of rivals Olympiakos & Panathinaikos they play the most attractive football. AEK signed Jugoslavian Ivic (Monchengladbach) and Brazilian midfielder Julio Cezar. Both of them are very good players and will definitely help. Kerkira has relatively good players but they can't play good enough. Low scoring opportunities and fans are unhappy with the whole situation. Good Brazilian attacking midfielder Fofonca is the new face in the squad (from Iraklis).

Olympiakos CFP v Aris Thessaloniki (without spectators)

Aris travel to Athens to face Olympiakos in a very difficult game. Aris has renewed the contract of talented and skilfull defender Papadopoulos (both Olympiakos & and Panathinaikos were interested in him) and first scorer Argentinian Sanjurgo. The three new signings from Cameroon (Quemaha, Equeme and Inogue) are quality players but they still need a couple of weeks more to fully adapt to their new environment. The ambient in the team is excellent and everyone is happy with the performance of the team. That is not the case in Olympiakos. The brazilians Rivaldo and Giovanni are set to leave in summer. Fans are not fond of the coach and want him to leave. The coming game is considered as a critical one for him. Olympiakos has to win this game. Although Aris is unbeaten for 11 sequent games i think that this record will find an end on Sunday. However the odds are too low

Trainer Nene Santana hat einige entscheidungen im Team offen gelassen, da sich varianten anbieten um die ersten Punkte zu holen. Man hat in den letzen Spielen immer sehr gut gespielt, jedoch jedesmal aus 1-2 Standard Situationen Tore im entscheidenden Moment kassiert.

Wir k?n 4-4-2, 4-3-3- spielen, die entscheidung wird kurz vor Spiel fallen sagte der Trainer, der aufgrund der Niederlagen, um seinen Posten bangen mu?



Fazit: Guarani ist auch im bester Form schw?er als Ponte Petra, jedoch spielen beide Teams um Klassen schlechter als erwartet. Bei Ponte erkennt man die tendenz nach oben und wenn sie in der Abwehr f?ie richtige Ruhe sorgen gibt es 3 Punkte, der Notfallsplan steht auch bereit, da man im Training eine umstellung auf 4-2-4 ge?hat.
