The fans of NBA can't complain watching at the schedule of today/tonight's matches: eight clashes plus like a bonus buzz, the possible departure of the Lakers' coach.
Rudy Tomjanovich, who had been hired last July, has informed the directors of Lakers, that he is exhausted, in part because of the pressure, that accompany his position, and there he might resign.
But let's see the menu. I devided it to hors d'oeuvre (only appetizers), to main course, to the dessert, and a stay-away-from-pudding.
1. hors d'oeuvre (only appetizers)
New Jersey at Boston
Toronto at Indiana
Atlanta at Detroit
the home teams should win more or less smoothly.
2. the main course
Dallas at New Orleans
Phoenix at Minnesota
Sacramento at Golden State
the road teams - which play away - should win, but for Phoenix it should not be an easy game.
3. dessert (or "the choice of the chef")
Houston at Philadelphia
It will be the battle of two of the best five scorers of NBA. Allen Iverson (Philadelpihia 76ers) leads the league with 29,0 points per game, while at Houston rockets McGrady is fifth with 25,4 ppg.
Iverson returned just on Monday and with 27 points led the 76ers to beat the Indiana Pacers by 89-88.
McGrady was not fit enough on Monday and scored just 16 points in Houston's 97-94 win over the Boston Celtics. But (a big but!) Yao Ming scored 23 points.
Both team in good shape.
Houston on the road so far: 11 win-11 lost matches, while Philadelphia at home 11-7.
The overall record of Houston is 54,3%, while the same at Philadelphia is 47,7%.
The bookies at least so undecided, as the bettors: gamebookers offers 1,91-1,91 on moneyline, which means no handicap!
I would pick Houston, because it seems to me, that after the lost match in Miami, they have improved on the road very much.
4. Enough for dinner, therefore stay away from Denver's visit at Portland.
Bon appetite!
